Privacy

Short version: Tezca has no account, no telemetry and no cloud. Everything stays on your PC.

What Tezca does not do

  • It does not connect to any server: no analytics, no crash reports, no telemetry.
  • It does not check for updates. A new version arrives only when you download it.
  • It has no account and no sign-in.
  • It does not send your screen anywhere. Video goes from the phone to your PC and stays there.

The connections it does use

  • Android: adb over the USB cable, on your PC only.
  • iPhone over USB: the USB cable, through Apple's own driver and service.
  • iPhone over AirPlay: while you have the receiver turned on, your PC is visible to devices on the local network (Bonjour), and the iPhone sends video straight to it. This never leaves your network. Windows Firewall is asked to allow it on private networks only.

Where your data lives

Settings, device names and logs are kept in %APPDATA%\PhoneMirror on your PC (PhoneMirror is Tezca's internal name). Logs rotate and old ones are deleted. Uninstalling Tezca asks whether to keep this folder.

A local API, later

A planned local control API will listen on 127.0.0.1 only, so only programs on your own PC can reach it, and it will be off by default. It is not in this version.
