Prefer no installer? The portable zip (33.8 MB) runs from any folder. SHA-256 e0007e18367594fe06a451f86a0ff306f3dee186d8a79b9ec0bfa6596edd20d8

System requirements

  • Windows 10 version 1809 or newer, or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64)
  • A graphics card with DirectX 11 (feature level 11_0); Tezca decodes on it with D3D11VA
  • 500 MB of free disk space. Setup installs per user and needs no administrator rights

Verify the download

Compare the file's SHA-256 with the one above. In PowerShell, in the folder you downloaded to:

Get-FileHash .\TezcaSetup.exe -Algorithm SHA256

The Hash it prints must match e5e33107c11486c65b7885e4d5ddbdddb9f35fe78289a420fc91e92f7a9c0c94 exactly (case does not matter).

The SmartScreen prompt

This build is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say it protected your PC. After the hash matches, choose More info, then Run anyway. Signed builds will not show this.

Set up a phone

Android, over USB

  1. On the phone, open Settings › About phone and tap Build number seven times.
  2. Open Settings › System › Developer options and turn on USB debugging.
  3. Plug the phone in, unlock it and tap Allow on "Allow USB debugging?".
  4. In Tezca, choose the phone under Android and press [ Mirror ].

iPhone or iPad, over the USB cable

Video and sound through the cable, with no Wi-Fi. It needs two things on the PC, once. Tezca Setup installs no drivers; you add them yourself.

  1. Install Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store (or iTunes). Connect the iPhone, unlock it and tap Trust.
  2. Add the libusb0 capture filter on top of Apple's driver for the iPhone. It does not replace Apple's driver. The steps are in docs\wired-iphone-setup.html in the Tezca folder, and linked from Tezca Setup.
  3. If UsbDk is installed, remove it and restart Windows. Tezca does not use it.
  4. Open Tezca, choose iPhone, then plug in and unlock the iPhone. The picture appears after a few seconds.

iPhone or iPad, over AirPlay

  1. Put the iPhone and the PC on the same Wi-Fi, and set that network to Private in Windows.
  2. In Tezca, choose iPhone and press Start under AirPlay. Allow the Windows Firewall prompt for private networks.
  3. On the iPhone, open Control Center › Screen Mirroring and choose Tezca.
